Applications:

Pen-type voltage testers, or non-contact voltage (NCV) testers, are used by electricians and homeowners to quickly and safely detect the presence of live AC voltage in wires, cables, circuit breakers, outlets, and lighting fixtures before beginning work. They are essential safety tools for troubleshooting electrical faults without making physical contact with the conductor.


Measuring Principle:

Pen-type voltage testers detect the presence of AC voltage by sensing the oscillating electric field surrounding a live conductor, utilizing a capacitive sensor without needing direct electrical contact. This non-contact principle allows the tester to indicate a live wire when the electric field induces a small current in the tester's tip.
